Vietnam Tag-A-Long 2008 Length and dates OPEN Nov 4 - Nov 25
The trip is limited to 6 travelers +/-. If turns out that you can’t make this tour there will be others. If you’re interested in organizing your own I can help you through my website or by email if you have specific questions. As we move along in the planning I will create a blog to pass along information and answer “frequently asked questions.” Even if you can’t make the trip, you’re invited to participate in the blog. If there’s a lot of interest in planning this type of trip and the trip itself I may start a newsletter. I don’t make hotel or tour reservations in advance unless I foresee problems by not doing so. I may call ahead once we get in country to let a hotel know we are on our way. All of us may not stay at the same hotel. We don’t have to stay in a group, if you see some thing of interest – you can explore or take a tour on your own. We may setup “rally points” each day and at certain points along the itinerary in case some one gets seriously separated from the group. TENTATIVE Itinerary: Angkor Wat - Cambodia 2-3 days Bangkok - 1 day Tiger temple - 1 day Chiang Mai - 1 day Chiang Rai - Mekong River cruise - 2 days Luang Prabang, Laos - 1 or 2 days Vientiane, Laos - 1 day Hanoi - 1 day Sapa or Halong Bay depending on weather. 3 days Head south to Saigon - Open
1. You need a passport valid for 6 months when you arrive in Vietnam and a tourist visa.
Vietnam Visa Information
2. First come, first served. An airline ticket with confirmation number gets you on the tour. Make contact with me to confirm space availability prior to purchasing ticket. I will try to help you get the best deal on a ticket if you need help. I AM NOT A TRAVEL AGENT.
3. Take only what YOU can carry. That can change as you collect souvenirs, etc. You’re still responsible for your own gear.
4. No Whining! A statement of displeasure is fine, but 2 days of discussion isn’t. Treat our hosts with respect.
Estimated in-country expenses per person: US$10.00 to $20 a nite for hotels (Mostly $10) $10 - $20 for meals. Local tours extra. In-country transportation estimate $150.
